Fall Registration is Now Open

Family Futures Resource Network offers child and youth programs developed to increase social skills for children and youth ages 6-18 such as problem-solving; friendship building; anger management; communication; bullying support; goal setting and girl empowerment. These evidence-informed programs incorporate the Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Asset Building research and have been well received and sought after.

These programs will honour public health guidelines but provide the opportunity for in-person programming for you and your family to enjoy. Check out our *NEW* At-Home Family Fun programs for fun family-friendly activities to do at home. 

Please note, some of our Early Childhood Development programs go up to 6 years old.

Babysitter Training Course

12 years and up | The Babysitter Training Course can help prevent injuries and promote responsible management of common situations that may arise while children are under the care of babysitters. This in-depth course is designed to develop transferable skills and is delivered focusing on lectures, small group discussions, problem-solving, student presentations, inquiry, role-playing and instructor-led demonstrations. This program has been developed by the Canada Safety Council and is designed for young people who will reach the age of 12 or older within the calendar year. A final exam will be held in the last session

COMING SOON! – School Closure Day Camps

6–12 years | COMING SOON! Once school boards confirm school closure dates registration dates will be announced. Family Futures Resource Network is excited to offer school break day camps for children ages 6–12!  Join us for themed activities, arts and crafts, games and more.

These programs will honour public health guidelines but provide the opportunity for in-person programming to be enjoyed. Total capacity numbers for each camp may change without notice.

Home Alone Program

10 years and up | Ideally, children should be supervised at all times by a responsible adult. However, today’s family situations often cannot accommodate this idea. The Home Alone Program is designed to provide children with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods of time. It will help them understand how to prevent problems, handle real-life situations, and keep them safe and constructively occupied. This program has been developed by the Canada Safety Council and is recommended for children who are at least 10 years of age and up. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Kids Klub (Formerly Youth Nights)

8–12 years | This is a time kids can come to have fun in a safe environment through a variety of games, activities and interesting conversations. Learn some new skills, show us your creative side, and have fun!

NEW! – Neighbourhood Knights

7–10 years | Join us on an adventure as you’ve never experienced. Participants will train as knights who will learn how to protect their immediate realm from damage and danger. This program will teach kids the elements of personal responsibility in the context of their neighbourhood. Participants will learn how to keep their community safe, environmentally friendly, beautiful, and positive.
