Child and Youth Supervisor 

Full Time Permanent - 37.5 hours/week

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Child and Youth Supervisor is a member of the Leadership team and is responsible for developing and implementing preventative programs aimed at children, youth and their families, including our busy summer and spring camp programs. The Child and Youth Supervisor will supervise program staff; this includes conducting performance appraisals, supporting team meetings, managing schedules, supporting facilitation, and monitoring program delivery.  The Child and Youth Supervisor will work to ensure agency objectives are met and contribute to a positive team culture and environment. Liaison within the community and building relationships will be also a key part of this role.

Experience and Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Post-Secondary Diploma in a Human Services field or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years direct experience working with children and youth in a preventative capacity 
• Significant experience in recruitment, training, and supervision of staff members
• Solid understanding of child/youth development and family dynamics 
• Experience of program development and facilitation for children and youth and their families 
• Understanding of current trends and youth work practices
• Experience of working with marginalized and/or culturally diverse groups is an asset
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and collaborative skills
• Strong professional boundaries
• Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule, work environment and work demands
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft computer applications  
• Valid Police Information Check and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Check

Hours of Work:
• Full time position:  37.5 hours/week; willing to work a flexible schedule, which could include daytime, evening and weekend hours.

Program Facilitator (Child & Youth focus)

Full-Time Permanent Position - 37.5 hours/week

As a member of our dynamic programming team, the Program Facilitator delivers a range of family and adult programming, including programs with children and youth. This position will also provide referrals and outreach services to program participants; assist in other program areas, and carry out agency administration.

Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma/Degree in a relevant Human Service field
Minimum of three years program facilitation with experience of working with families

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience of program development and strong group facilitation skills
Knowledge of family dynamics, childhood development, and age appropriate behavioral management strategies, for children ranging in age from birth to 18 years.
Experience working with and programming for youth populations (6-18 years) an asset
Familiar with and knowledge of accessing community resources
Experience of working with families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
Excellent  communication, computer and organization skills
Strong networking skills and the ability to be a respectful and collaborative team member
Previous Triple P and ASQ training is an asset


Valid Police Information Check and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Check
Access to a reliable vehicle
Willing to work a flexible schedule, which could include daytime, evening and Saturday hours
