OPERATIONS MANAGER

Permanent Full-Time (37.5 hrs/week)

We are looking for a self-motivated, Operations Manager who pays attention to detail and is extremely organized to join our growing team. They are a dynamic, energetic, outgoing person who wants to make a difference in the lives of families and adults.

Job Description:

The Operations Manager holds a senior leadership position in the Agency.  Under the authority of the Executive Director, the position assumes responsibility for ensuring the management of facilities, fee for service management, database management, technology, human resource management, office administration, and marketing. The Operations Manager has the authority to direct the implementation of internal systems and processes that support the efficient operations of the Agency. This is a senior management position and will have four direct reports.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years work experience in business development and strategy along with a combination background in business planning, operational management, HR support and marketing/revenue generation.
  • Prior experience as a manager within a larger nonprofit agency (1M plus budget.)
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial statements.
  • Previous experience with marketing and agency promotion, etc.
  • Prior work or other related experience within the nonprofit sector.
  • Prior experience in revenue generation strategies that may include development of funding proposals, contract negotiation, and preparing reports to primary funders, such as FCSS or other government funded programs (municipal and provincial).
  • Computer skills to produce effective spreadsheets, reports, documents and presentations, as required.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications and other digital networks such as database management, social media, and website management.
  • Facility management experience is an asset.
  • Providing leadership and staff development to your team through effective role modeling and coaching techniques.
  • Builds and maintains inter-departmental relationships within the agency.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation).
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Time management and follow-up skills; highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Accountable for results, strives to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and collaborate on projects.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and management skills.

Other:

This is a Full Time position that has a flexible schedule with availability that allows for a management presence during weekdays, evenings, weekends.

This is a salaried position that will depend on experience and qualifications.

FAMILY MENTOR

Permanent Full-Time (37.5 hrs/week)

Family Futures is excited to announce that we are looking for full time position in our weekly home visitation program!  We are seeking a compassionate, skilled individual to join our Family Mentorship team as we grow to serve additional families on Edmonton’s south side.

The Family Mentor works in the Family Mentorship Program and is responsible for supporting families in their homes. They work collaboratively with families to set goals for their children’s health and well being while utilizing a solution-focused approach. The Family Mentor builds strong trusting relationships and provides support in: linking families with other services, providing relevant information and resources, helping parents/ caregivers with child development, and assisting families with positive parenting strategies.

In-home support is provided to families with children up to the age of five and those with prenatal needs.  The Family Mentorship Program offers support on a weekly basis for families who are parenting for the first time and are experiencing multiple stressors that may impact their ability to parent successfully.   As families develop support systems and learn to manage crises, the support visits decrease.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Post Secondary Diploma in a Human Services field.
  • Three (3) years direct experience working with families and children, including those who are marginalized and/or culturally diverse.
  • Ability to speak an additional language an asset.
  • Solid knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
  • Knowledge in maternal and infant health and knowledge in prevention of child abuse and neglect.
  • Familiar with community resources to facilitate appropriate referrals.
  • Experience providing support to families in their homes an asset.
  • Team player.  Computer literate.  Proficient verbal and written English.
  • Valid Police Information Check and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Check.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle.

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours/week; willing to work a flexible schedule, which includes daytime, evening, and a possibly weekend hours.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES PROGRAMMERS

Full-Time Term Positions (37.5 hrs/wk)

Work hours between 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Mon-Fri.

Flexible schedule required. Evening and weekend work may be necessary.

Term Contract: May 01 – August 31, 2019

Starting salary $15.00/hour dependent upon experience.

POST SECONDARY STUDENTS WELCOME! These fun and rewarding positions will require you to use your skills, knowledge, and training while fostering the social development of children aged 3 – 12 years. These positions are ideal for education, social work, human ecology or child & youth care students. You will gain experience working daily with children and have the opportunity to use and develop program facilitation skills in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with children and youth ranging from 3 – 12 years in camp/program settings.
  • Engaging with parents/caregivers and families of participants.
  • Assisting in the development of camp/program curriculum and facilitate daily program plans.
  • Ensuring the health and safety of all children by adhering to all policies and procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with agency staff to ensure a positive camp experience for all.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle as travel between sites is required.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Desire to support the healthy growth and development of children.
  • Current and valid First Aid Certificate with Level C CPR/AER.
  • Must have a recent Police Information Check and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Check (completed within the past 3 months).
